2024 Imagination Film Fellowship
Big in Arizona in collaboration with DLP Productions LLC, Lowell Observatory, and Creative Flagstaff.
FLAGSTAFF, ARIZONA- Big in Arizona, in collaboration with DLP Productions LLC, and made possible by Lowell Observatory and Creative Flagstaff, is excited to announce the inaugural 2024 Imagination Film Fellowship. Five fellows will be selected to participate in an innovative film-theater hybrid experience that will premiere at the Universe Theater, a state-of-the-art Marley Foundation Astronomy Discovery Center at Lowell Observatory.
Opening in November 2024, this unique show covers various topics, including human imagination, the expanding Universe, and Indigenous astronomy of Northern Arizona.
The 2024 Imagination Film Fellowship will begin the week of March 10, 2024.
The fellowship will take place in Flagstaff, Arizona, and will span approximately 15 days (4-8 hours per day) through March-August 2024.
This fellowship is for emerging filmmakers at the beginning stages of their careers in the following areas: directing, production, cinematography, animation, and sound and will include workshops, storyboarding, pre-production, production, filming, and post-production on the cinema/theater hybrid production currently titled, “Imagination and the Universe.”
An award-winning visual or audio artist will mentor each fellow. In addition, each fellow will gain production experience and help create an innovative large-format film, along with receiving a $2,400 stipend.
Applications will close Friday, March 1st, at 10 pm MST.
Interested applicants with knowledge of and a connection to Indigenous cultures of Northern Arizona are highly encouraged to apply.
